Plano West got off to a strong start to the playoffs on February 24. The 6A playoff opener set the Wolves against Timber Creek in what finished as a 64-53 victory for West.
The Wolves took a slight advantage in the first quarter, but it was the second quarter that Plano West broke away, taking the quarter 12-2. From there, West never let off the pedal and ended with a 21-point victory.
Not only impressive in scoring, Plano West did a great job thriving in the off-the-ball, scrappy play beneath the boards, out rebounding Creek 37-20. Tyler Davis had 10 of those rebounds, leading him to a double-double with his game-high 28 points. D.J. Hogg backed up the senior center with 21 points and six boards.
The 27-2 Wolves improve to a seven-game win streak. Plano West currently sits in 26th in the DigitalSports National Basketball Rankings and 1st in Texas.
Looking to continue their playoff run, the Wolves next face Coppell on February 28.
